The Big Mosh & The Angry Hero welcome “The New F’N Show” Jerry Lynn to the program, talking about Hardcore Homecoming, where he will be taking on Justin Credible in one of the top matches. Jerry starts off by talking about his mental and physical condition headed into HH this Friday. Physically, he’s at about 97% and is actually ahead of schedule in recovering from rotator cuff surgery, but mentally, he is prepared.
Jerry mentions how the match at Hardcore Homecoming with Justin Credible was originally supposed to be in a cage, but after the TNA Lockdown PPV, he felt the concept was a bit played out. AH suggests that they should have done a Coal Miner’s Glove match instead.
Jerry recalls the first time working in front of an ECW crowd in Waltham, MA against Chris Candido. He remembers the crowd being “brutal” but since Candido was a great worker, the fans took to him.
Looking back at his high-profile feud with Rob Van Dam, Jerry says they did their best to provide innovative work each bout due to the “face vs. face” dichotomy. He supports RVD’s outspoken stance on wanting the ECW shows to be as authentic as possible. Jerry would hate to see a repeat of the Invasion angle, having a company just once “book for business not for egos.”
Jerry really hasn’t talked to his ECW brethren about the reunion shows, but he thinks many are nervous yet excited to be a part of a “magical night.” Even though the fans missed ECW, the wrestlers do just as a bad since it was a “non-stop party.”
Despite not watching WWE programming, he is aware of the involvement of the WWE-exclusive wrestlers on the show and is against the idea. He feels it’s simply because the WWE guys are afraid of ECW outdoing them and are too concerned about their egos being damaged.
Jerry definitely feels the WWE, especially the writers, are not giving their full effort in making One Night Stand a success. Many of these writers have no idea what ECW was and are insulting their own intelligence by acting like they do. To Jerry and fans, ECW meant so much more than just “weapons matches”, offering a bit of everything.
After talking about the challenge of putting together a TRUE ECW Three-Way Dance, Jerry comments that Vince McMahon is exploiting ECW to keep his company afloat since his main product isn’t doing that well. He feels that ECW brand show could be an option but the sustained dedication is simply not there.
Jerry is unable to pinpoint his greatest ECW although he does have a laugh about the “naked Sandman” at a show in Florida. He remembers working with Steve Corino at Heatwave 2000, writing “DIE” in Corino’s blood on his stomach (a spot not originally supposed to happen). Jerry also talks about working with Lance Storm; initially treating his offense like RVD’s with all the kicks and brings up an odd wrestling photo with him and Lance Storm.
When asked about Sabu, Jerry recalls how in their first ECW match together, it was initially booked as a squash but Sabu wouldn’t allow it, even taking heat backstage from Paul Heyman. He shares some thoughts on Joey Styles as well, particularly Joey’s call at Heatwave and the whole blood incident. Jerry remembers Joey’s commentary when he won the ECW title and how Justin Credible talked Paul Heyman into going through with the switch.
Jerry is not as bitter with Heyman as has been in the past, feeling it was unnecessary to harbor all the hate and resentment he had. He mentions that Heyman and Dreamer called him to replace Chris Candido in the opener at One Night Stand versus Lance Storm, but Johnny Ace nixed the idea. Jerry addresses the rumor that TNA wrestlers were at one point seriously considered to work One Night Stand but copyright issues got in the way.
In analyzing the Raven/Sandman bout at Hardcore Homecoming, Jerry expects the match to be unpredictable and the two adversaries to bust out stuff you haven’t seen before. He also confirms his participation in the Forever Hardcore DVD and would be really excited for a Hardcore Homecoming tour to take place.
Jerry loves going out his way to meet the fans and says the ECW fans were always appreciative of his hard work in the ring, not caring about titles or prior accomplishments in other promotions.
In a brief aside, Angry Hero and Jerry talk a little heavy metal. Jerry’s been listening to bands like Ebony Tears, Kreator, Dark Tranquility, and Behemoth and recently had the chance to see Cryptopsy and Cattle Decapitation in Nashville. Overall, Jerry is into a little bit of everything musically, including the blues and industrial.
In wrapping up, Jerry talks a little about TNA, saying there is no update about the TV situation, although the idea for a Monday night show is being strongly considered. He puts over NWA champion AJ Styles, of whom he is very proud of.

Seems like a good interview... I honestly can't understand how WWF fucked up with signing Jerry Lynn. The guy's one of the best Indy workers around, they sign him, give him the piece of tin LHW Title, then send him to Jakked before releasing him 4 months later.
It's a simple case of if you don't ooze charisma or give a wonderful interview they are totally lost on what to do with you. It's funny though, because now they allow all their shitty OVW rookies to come in and do their thing regardless of how bad they are. Too bad they started giving guys a chance years after they blew it with some really awesome workers.
Off topic but kinda on topic, I bet WWE is kicking themselves in the pants for thinking K-Kwik couldn't get over. :-P I wouldn't complain if he ever went back to WWE, but that'll just show WWE doesn't know how to make new stars without using the same old tire stereotypes.

They wouldn't even care. They are just looking for the next Rock/Hogan/Austin, and I hope they realize that the business will die off before that happens again.

Wrong. Unfortunately WWE had a chance to resign Ron after his first NWA title run, and JR even commented about it back when he did his internet column every week. He said something along the lines of, they were happy with his success, but had no use for him whatsoever.
