Tyson quits, hints at retirement Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Mike Tyson may have fought his last fight. And it wasn't pretty.
Tyson looked overmatched against a journeyman fighter from across the Atlantic Ocean, failing to come out for the seventh round of his heavyweight fight against Ireland's Kevin McBride on Saturday night.
And after the fight was stopped on the suggestion of his corner -- even as his opponent bled from the left eye in his corner -- Tyson hinted that the end of his legendary career might be here.
"Most likely I'm not going to fight anymore," a reserved Tyson said.
"I'm sorry I let everybody down. I'm fighting just to pay my bills. I don't have the stomach for this anymore...I don't have the desire for it anymore. I feel bad for the people...I wish they could get their money back.
"I'll find something to do," Tyson continued. "Boxing isn't my life."

This is horrible news for me... I know a lot of people hate Tyosn, but he's been one of my favorite boxers since I started watching nearly 15 years ago. He was a colorful character, and made boxing interesting.
Still, I'll cherrish every knockout I've seen of his from his career. (cries into towel)

Personally, I could careless. The guys a fucking caveman, too bad he was boxing's last great box office draw. Oh, well.......I'll guess it'll have to go back to fixing fights for the mafia.
I'm not a big fan of Tyson the person (I doubt anyone is), but he was the last heavyeweight that I saw as a draw in Boxing, and now this era is over.
Same with me, but I Tyson has never really done much good for the boxing community either except for making it look bad. The guy was the most impressive boxer EVER at one point. Now he's finished and hopefully the sport of boxing can get better because of it.
