Title: CM Punk expected to sign
Description: according to Ian Rotten

Big F'N Swigg - June 11, 2005 10:00 PM (GMT)
At this afternoon's IWA:Mid South event in Hammond, IN, IWA:MS promoter Ian Rotten claimed that CM Punk has signed a deal with the WWE. Rotten said that Punk's final match before starting with WWE would be next Saturday, in Morristown, NJ for Ring of Honor. Punk is scheduled to wrestle Austin Aries for the ROH World title on June 18 - and although he has been booked for a Cyberspace Wrestling show a week afterwards (June 25), if Rotten's story is true, then Punk may have to cancel that date. Martin Hoffmann added that this is being report via live fan reports at the CZWfans.com website, which you can read by clicking here.

We got another report from the IWA show that Rotten didn't exactly say he was signing, but intimated that he probably would and thanked Punk for all he has done for the company.

I just did some checking and from what I was told, Punk hasn't signed officially yet, but will be at TV this week and will be meeting with WWE management. At this point, everyone I talked to pretty much expects it to happen.

It makes sense with TNA not having a TV deal.

Well, according to Da Meltz, he's officially signed. And Da Meltz is usually pretty accurate, so I'd say it's safe to assume he's signed the contract.

It makes sense too, as he was probably holding out to see how the TNA to WGN deal went through.

If they even end up doing that much with him I'll be shocked.

May be he'll at least get a Paul London-like push.

I wonder if Punk will put in a good word for Colt Cabana. ...And Ace Steel and Danny Dominion. Although I don't care as much about Steel and Dominion, and the probably wouldn't since they're trainers for RoH.

Wait...isn't Punk, well, wasn't Punk one of the head trainers for RoH?

Big F'N Swigg - June 12, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
Punks been THE head trainer for ROH

Good, maybe I can finally see what the big fuss is with this dude. I've never even seen him.

He's fundamentally solid, and can play to the crowd well. A truly great acquisition if they use him right

I would like to see him stick with the straight edge gimmick for now. With the promos he cuts, he can get a lot of heat to start.

Definitely make him a heel then. A Crowd hating someone rubbing it in their faces that he's "straight-edge" is a hell of a lot more effective than as a sympathetic babyface.
