Title: KOTM wildcard thread

Big F'N Swigg - June 6, 2005 01:47 AM (GMT)
So let's start taking a guess at who the "wildcard" will/should be at Slammiversary. Give us two who you think it will be, and two that it should be. Then tell us why, as that will create DISCUSSION!!!

Will be:

1) Raven.- In my opinion, them not making the wildcard would be ludicrous. They've started a whole storyline about him intimidating the wildcard. Though it didn't get to finish, it's still a storyline that CAN'T be ignored. Which most likely means that they'll pretend it never happened and give the spot to Trtyan.

2) Jeff Hardy- Let's face it, he's a marketable name that would be great for fans to see if WGN picked up their show. Also, he's face and it would make sense to throw another face into the mix. Not to mention that this is the kind of Match where Hardy could shine in some points. It would also add fuel to his rivalry with Raven.

Should be:

1) Chris Daniels- Just to mix some fresh blood into the main event scene. Think about this as well: An X Division competitor in the Heavyweight Title match also proves the "No Limits" motto. Not to mention that a title vs. title feud between AJ and Daniels could make some MASSIVE bank for TNA.

2) Steve Corino: Let's face it people, Corino is just what TNA needs. Really. Ok, maybe that's because I'm a Corino mark, but it would do them well. It really would.

I honestly wouldn't mind if it was Raven. His promo's have been spot on lately.

They DON'T need someone like Steve Corino, they already have bland workers signed. They don't need another one.

TAKE IT BACK!!!!!!!

My prediction: The Wildcard will be a huge disapointment... unless it's Sting or Hulk Hogan. (crosses fingers)

Which in my case it would still be a huge disappointment.

Scrooge McSuck - June 6, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
I meant disappointing, as in some midcarder no one wants in the main event like Sean Waltman or Chris Harris. I wouldn't mind seeing Ron Killings in the Main Event, but I think he's stuck in the stupid 3LK/Outlaw situation.

Real F'n Show - June 6, 2005 03:03 AM (GMT)
Other than Corino's work with Homicide in ROH, I've never really been a fan. Daniels would be perfect, but he's already busy. This would be a perfect opportunity to bring in Kanyon, me thinks.

Scrooge McSuck - June 6, 2005 03:33 AM (GMT)
Kanyon retired from wrestling after WWE released him, if memory serves correctly.

And no, Kanyon is not a big enough name to launch into a main event with no build up. Why not just throw Zach Gowen in then, since it would be the same thing?

whitemilesdavis - June 6, 2005 11:51 AM (GMT)
Umm, because Kanyon can actually wrestle?

I would also love to see Corino come in to TNA. He's decent enough in the ring, but he seems to have that extra spark of charisma that could realy put him over. He's no worse in the ring than Hogan, Dusty, Lawler, Rock..and several others, but those guys had no trouble drawing despite "bland ring work". I think he'd be a great fit, though I don't see it happening.

Is it too early for the wild card to be the "Man Beast" Rhyno?!?

Otherwise, I could see it being any number of guys who WWE let go of recently.

I could see it being Rhyno if his 90 day was up. I could also see it being someone from ROH

I swear. I was told by someone it was gonna be Punker. Guess that was just a rumor. But I'd mark. Hard.

It's very possible, but the problem is that your "Someone" could've been Scrooge for all we know.

But honestly, I'd love to see Punk return to TNA. But he's been offered a contract by WWE as of late. According to PWInsider, at least. So that's a difficult decision to make.

The Last Free Voice - June 10, 2005 03:47 PM (GMT)
No, it wasn't Scrooge. It was someone from the ROH Chat, and usually he's fairly accurate about things like that. But I believe Punk said he was offered a contract, but not from WWE... It was from some interview after one of the last ROH shows.... I'll have to see if I can find it.... Or maybe I'm delusional. We all know my history of that....

Big F'N Swigg - June 10, 2005 03:50 PM (GMT)
I read on PWInsider he was considering a WWE developmental deal. And I don't doubt that "someone" could be very accurate

dynamite kido - June 10, 2005 03:58 PM (GMT)
I've heard that Punk has contract offers from WWE and TNA at this point and he' pretty much sitting on both and trying to decide what he wants to do as of right now.

Big F'N Swigg - June 18, 2005 12:30 AM (GMT)
Okay, TNAWrestling.com just confirmed that the Wildcard is Sean Waltman.

FUCKING WEAK.

That was a huge suspense builder going into the match and they leaked it. I'm furious

whitemilesdavis - June 18, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
They would've been better off with Joe. The internet crowd (AKA the only people who'll buy this PPV) would've been elated.

Big F'N Swigg - June 19, 2005 04:07 PM (GMT)
I think I'm more pissed that they gave it away. I don't mind Waltman as much, as he's been very motivated in TNA. But they shouldn't have given it away before the show started

dynamite kido - June 19, 2005 07:01 PM (GMT)
Either way, I think Waltman is a bad choice. The only reason I think they are giving it away is because of Jarrett's situation. Just in case you guys haven't heard about it, apparantly they are taking Jeff out of the KOTM match in storyline form at this PPV. I'm thinking they are going to have a "surprise" guy take Jarrett's place.

Big F'N Swigg - June 19, 2005 10:02 PM (GMT)
Where have you heard this???

Does it really matter, it happened didn't it.

Big F'N Swigg - June 20, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
It doesn't really matter, I'd just like to know these things as well
