SMW - before they were famous
A fun DVD. SMW always puts together a nice package. I my break down individual matches later.
Real F'n Show - June 2, 2005 03:58 PM (GMT)
I just downloaded a Mexican Death Match from ECW on TNN: Super Crazy vs. Tajiri.
Tajiri just beats the shit out of Crazy for the first 6 or 7 minutes with kicks, more kicks, and a doublestomp off the top rope through a table, although his first attempt didn't break the table, which is sick.
Crazy does fight back though and even hits a moonsault off the ECW arena bleachers through a table at one point. Eventually Tajiri jumps off a table propped in the corner looking for a diving 'rana, but Crazy catches him and powerbombs him through another table for the win. Good match.

Out of curiousity, is that the same match where Super Crazy almost accidentially impales himself on a table leg?

Not that I noticed. It wasn't the greatest quality so I might not have noticed, but I think that's a different match.
There is this really cool spot where a table is set up and Crazy is on his knees facing the end of it and Tajiri starts sliding chairs down the table at his face at full speed. Only Crazy ducks and the chairs fly into the crowd.

Been watching Wrestlefest '88, courtesy of our own MillenniumMan831, who has been MIA in the posting department. So far...
Killer Bees/Rougeaus - Good formula match (faces control, heels cheat, rinse, repeat), but at around 18:00, it's a little too long considering the limitations (or lack of interest) from both teams.
Hart/Brown - These two have wrestled countless good matches in Stampede and WWF, and this is no different. I'm just a little upset it only got around 7:00.
Duggan/Honkytonk - Blech! Next please... Honky plays coward and cheats a lot, then we get a cheap finish. (SHOCK!)
PoP/Bolsheviks - Never mind, I think I'd rather watch the previous match. 8:00 of nothing.

If I remember this match correctly...Crazy looks exhausted and can barely hold himself up. Then Tajiri starts mocking Crazy's facial expressions and mocking him. Hilarious.

That's the one. I fucking love that. Hopefully he'll do it at the One Night Stand PPV, I'd mark like a bitch.

Continuing my kick of Tajiri ECW matches:
Tajiri vs. Steve Corino from Hardcore Heaven 2000:
Hell of a beating from Tajiri, and Corino bleeds BUCKETS in this. Plus a Real F'n Show appearance! That's right, I'm second row facing the camera during this show. Anyway, an excellent match, probably one of if not the best matches I've seen live.
Tajiri and Mikey vs. FBI from 9/8/00 ECW on TNN:
This is the infamous Hammerstein Ballroom match with a HOT crowd. Probably one of the funnest tag matches you'll ever see. Cool double teams from Mikey and Tajiri, and some innovative use of chairs and tables. Yes, this match rules.

I've been going through some tapes I just got in the mail (same guy as I mention before), and came across something I enjoyed quite a bit.
From the 8/25/84 MSG, the Fabulous Freebirds (Hayes, Gordy, Roberts) fought Butcher Vachon, Ron Shaw, and Pete Doherty in a 2 out of 3 falls match. That match wasn't too good, but I was marking like a bitch, mainly because the Freebirds run in the WWF lasted all of 2 months (tops), and this was before Michael Hayes was an annoying fuck in WCW. Also, they came to the ring to the song "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which gets extra brownie points from me.

The other night I got a chance to sit down and watch ROH's Third Aniversary Celebration Pt 3. It was a pretty solid show overall......

Fast Eddie Vegas vs. Matt Sydal
-For those who didn't know Fast Eddie is the same Fast Eddie that has been in ROH for sometime now.........but now he's heel, with Prince Nana, and yes.....he still sucks. I wasn't too big on this match or it's shitty pacing. I didn't even get through this one.............and I like Sydal.

Alex Shelley vs. Jack Evans
-Really solid work from Shelley in this one as his submissions look badass against Jack "Gumbi" Evans. Not to mention that I think that Evans is WAAAAAY better when his offense consists mainly of his highflying stuff too like it did in this one. I just hate it when the guy tries to do shitty submissions (although there is one in this match that's actually pretty good) instead of using the reason why most people want to see him in the first place. Also, there are some pretty sweet bumps taken by Evans (as usual) in this one. Nice finish, pretty good match.

Good Times Great Memories with Colt Cabana...Special Guest- Bobby Heenan
QUOTE
Colt Cabana & Nigel McGuinness with Bobby Heenan vs. Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer with Jim Cornette
-This match had some real funny stuff for me personally that made me enjoy it A LOT. Now, its not some off the charts workrate match, but the comedy and old school spots were great. They did the old Midnight pussy heel stuff with Maff/Whitmer/Cornette and played up the whole Heenan style is smarter than Cornette style stuff too. Corny got to play the whiny rich kid role he used to play so good that he hasn't done in sometime either, which was great as well. The match was nothing special but it was a nice break in the action with something different.

Bryan Danielson vs. Homicide (Falls Count Anywhere Match- 3rd in the Best of 5 Series)
-I've enjoyed this series immensely up to this point and this one was probably the best of the bunch that I've seen so far. THIS MATCH IS ONE OF THE BEST PINFALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCHES I'VE EVER SEEN. They faught all over the arena, beat the hell out of each other, and really put over the feud in this one for sure. These two really out did each other in this match and it really saddens me if Danielson is legit done in ROH for good. The crowd ate up every second and so did I. Homicide takes some incredible bumps in this match and Danielson takes chop after chop and stiff shot after stiff shot. Great chemisty and certainly one of the best ROH brawls if not THE best on in ROH history IMO.

Spanky vs. Jimmy Jacobs
-Solid match all around. They played up the whole Sliced Bread No. @ vs. the Contra Code the whole match and that was basically the story they worked with here. Good action and these two worked together very solidly. I would say it's on par with most of Spanky's recent stuff (although I would say that Spanky/Gibson kills this one) and he seems to be on the right track again (If you weren't aware I always thought Spanky was incredibly overrated....until recently).

James Gibson vs. Puma
-Sweet match. Puma got a chance to show off more of his "lucha" style stuff and they meshed awesome in this one. Gibson to me, is the best worker in ROH right now. He totally is over with the crowd and I've dug all his ROH stuff. I'm not saying he's the best they have........but he's pretty hot right now with all of his stuff there being way above par. Puma actually impressed me with some things he did in this match and it'd be awesome if ROH used him a little more as well.

CM Punk vs. Jimmy Rave
-Honestly, I wasn't into this match as much as I thought I would be. First off it was overbooked (I understand they were building the fued) but there was just too much going on here with Cabana/Traci in Punks corner and Rave's usual ringside crew. Plus, the match went too long IMO and they didn't seem to build to anything except for Rave doing things to get over more as a heel. I did like the ending, but I really wish they could have went about this another way...........and it should have probably been on early in the show as well.

Austin Aries vs. Samoa Joe (ROH World Title Match)
-I was looking forward to this one as I really liked the match they had where Aries won the title. I was into this one and it really put over Joe big too. I was shocked at the time on this (as it went shorter than I expected) but it made great sense and they are really building Aries into a kick ass champion.......and I hated the switch when it happened. So overall these two have great chemistry and I enjoyed this match too.

Overall I really enjoyed this show. I would certainly recommend it......
